If you would like to review which of your campus group events are live on the calendar, go back to the main Dashboard menu and either click “Upcoming Events” in the main menu ribbon or, under “Events” in the left-hand admin menu, click “Live” to populate all live events. Once the live events list populates, use the “Refine Results” menu box to filter the list by your group.
One way to see which events of yours are live on the calendar, click “Upcoming Events” in the ribbon to populate all live events before refining the search results.
Another way to see which events of yours are live on the calendar, under “Events” in the left-hand admin menu, click “Live” to populate all live events before refining the search results.
The “Live Events” view will display all events that are live on the calendar.
Update, unpublish, or delete live events
To find the correct event to update, unpublish, or delete, be sure to review the instructions above on where to find your live events and how to filter your search within the “Refine Results” menu box.
Update a live event:
If you need to make any changes to your live event, locate the event in the “Live Events” view. Click the event title to bring you back to the event form, where you can then make any changes. Once your changes have been logged, click “Save” at the bottom right to save your work and push through to the live calendar.
Note: If your event status has changed (e.g., from “Live” to “Canceled”), be sure to make that update in the Publish tab of the event form. However, if you need your event deleted, you can delete the event from your YaleSites after deleting it from the Localist dashboard.
Unpublish (and republish) a live event:
You can choose to unpublish a live event if you need to temporarily remove it from the calendar (without deleting it). To do so, in the “Live Events” view, after clicking the event title, click “Published” at the top right of your screen and then click “Unpublish.” The event will then move out of the “Live Events” view and into the “Pending Events” view.
When you’re ready to republish the event, head back into the “Pending Events” view to locate the event. There are a couple ways to republish this event:
- Click the event name in the view, make any applicable changes to the event form, click “Pending” in the top right corner of your screen and then click “Publish.”
- Or, in the “Pending Events” view, next to the event title, click “Approve” to push the event back onto the live calendar. (Note: You can also click “Review” in that event row to spot check how the updated event will appear live on the calendar. Once the event looks good to you, click “Publish” in the bottom ribbon to push it to the live calendar. If additional changes are needed, click “Edit.”)
Delete a live event:
By deleting an event from the system, you will permanently remove the event from the calendar and your dashboard. You will not be able to retrieve this event once it is deleted.
For those with YaleSites who need to delete their event: Delete the event from the Yale-Localist dashboard first and then from your YaleSites website to ensure its removal. The sync feed between Yale-Localist and YaleSites only brings through new and updated events, not deleted events. If you only delete your event from your site, it will still appear in Yale-Localist until it’s removed from the system.
If you need to delete a live event, locate the event in the “Live Events” view. There are a couple of ways to delete it:
- To the right of the event name, clicking the trashcan icon will delete the event from the calendar.
- Or, after clicking the event title, click “Delete Event” at the top right of your screen.
