The Yale Institute of Sacred Music (ISM), known for its interdisciplinary work in music, worship, and the arts, used the new YaleSites platform to build a website that reflects the depth of its mission. The ISM team appreciated the intuitive nature of the platform, praising its accessibility, design standards, and ability to handle a large, multifaceted site.
Community Spotlight: Yale Institute of Sacred Music
The ISM site, which serves as both a scholarly resource and a showcase for the arts, took full advantage of the YaleSites’ platform. The team utilized a variety of block options, including spotlight, video, wrapped image, accordion, profile, and callout blocks, to create a dynamic and engaging user experience.
One of the highlights of the ISM site is its robust use of imagery, a feature the team was eager to enhance using D10’s prominent image displays.
Despite the project’s complexity, ISM expressed gratitude for YaleSites’ responsive support. The platform’s ease of use empowered their communications team to make updates with minimal training, making the experience both efficient and enjoyable.
A key highlight of this website is the integration of the universal media player, selected for its ease of use, accessibility, and reliability for embedding live content. Matt LeFevre from the Yale School of Music was instrumental in testing and validating the setup, ensuring seamless functionality for content creators.
For ISM, the new site serves as a powerful tool that enhances its mission of connecting scholarship, worship, and the arts.
