Make your content stand out with Reference Cards

Tuesday, June 4, 2024

The Reference Card block lets you take an existing piece of content—a post, an event, or even a profile—and quickly and stylishly show it off with an eye-catching card.

Let’s say your academic department recently published a significant piece of research—the culmination of years of hard work—and you’re all very proud of it. You’ve commemorated it with a post on your news feed, but it doesn’t feel quite momentous enough. And as time passes, that announcement gets buried under more recent pieces of news. You can show it off with a reference card.

How it works

A reference card is our newest block type; you can find it in the blocks menu at the end of the “Basic” section. Just give it an admin title, pick the post you want to reference, and choose a style (featured style makes the text overlay pop out over the image, non-featured leaves the image unobscured). Just like that, with no other content creation or editing needed, you have a stylish piece of promotional content that’s impossible to miss.

With a reference card, you can give that new research publication the attention it deserves in a snap. And it’s extremely versatile—use it to highlight a member of your department, or an upcoming event.
