What’s changed?

Introducing our first versioned release, v1.1.0! This significant milestone brings a host of exciting new features alongside critical fixes and enhancements, all designed to bring your authoring experience to new heights.

Reusable Blocks

Speed up your workflow and simplify content management with Reusable Blocks, a powerful new YaleSites feature.

Reusable Blocks empower you to create content once and reuse it across your YaleSite. Any changes made to a Reusable Block are immediately reflected anywhere the Reusable Block appears. This functionality is beneficial when you need to standardize elements like Custom Cards, Callouts, or custom Views.

Dynamic Link Treatments

We have improved the clarity of links for your users by automatically incorporating icons to convey the links’ behavior. When you create an external link, an arrow will now be displayed next to the link. For links that open in new tabs, a window with an arrow will appear. Additionally, for links to files, a circle with an arrow will be displayed. This update also introduces a toggle for making pages open in new tabs, a highly requested feature by users.

Light and Dark Admin Theme

The new accessible light & dark admin theme is based on user feedback and testing with our Fable users. User’s admin theme will now reflect their operating system’s corresponding preferences. If you have light theme set on your device, your admin theme will now display light. We also customized the accent colors of the theme to include an on-brand Yale blue.

Fixes and Improvements

User Feedback Based Work

  • Improved help text for Page Title control fields. Now users have additional help text to ensure the H1 is set properly on each page.
  • Ability to link pages, posts, events and profiles to external sources. Additionally, when you list content in a view, a new external link icon will appear near the title.

Authoring Experience

  • Bug fix to allow link paths to <front> in all Blocks. Additionally, updated link help text to use the new version.
  • Resolved “Manage Settings” error. Now users will not encounter error when navigating to ‘Manage Settings”.
  • Site settings update now does not change path from node to URL.
