Beyond the Block: How YaleSites Approaches Component Design

Drawing on platform analytics, editor feedback, and governance committee records, the authors examine how design system constraints, editorial workflows, and stakeholder engagement supported adoption across 300+ sites and 1,200+ editors. The piece closes with reflections on balancing centralized governance with departmental autonomy in higher education web operations.
