Platform Maintenance

In this release, the YaleSites platform was upgraded to Drupal 10.6. Drupal is the content management system YaleSites is built on. This is a maintenance release focused on security and long-term stability, with no intended new user-facing features.

What Changed

With this release, the platform now runs on Drupal 10.6, and more than 50 contributed modules have been upgraded. Together, these updates keep every site secure and compatible, and lay the groundwork for a future upgrade to Drupal 11.

This is a maintenance release, so you shouldn’t notice any difference in how your site looks or works. If you notice an issue, please contact us at yalesites@yale.edu.

Block Options

  • The Image Banner block now has a “Mini” content height option

Bug Fixes

  • Profile Views with “Affiliation” filters now properly display and function correctly.

YaleSites Advantage

Maintaining the platform is part of what YaleSites does, so units can focus on creating and managing their content. For the 300+ Yale sites on the platform and the 1,200+ content editors who rely on it, the cost and complexity of technical upkeep is handled entirely by our team.

This is part of the YaleSites Advantage. If you would like to learn more about the key benefits of being on YaleSites, please visit the YaleSites Advantage page.

Module Updates

YaleSites is built on top of Drupal, but the platform is really a collection of many components working together called modules. A module is code that extends site features and adds functionality.

Some of these modules are maintained by the YaleSites team, while others are contributed and maintained by the broader Drupal community.

In this release, more than 50 contributed modules have been upgraded. That community of developers around the world is constantly improving these modules, fixing bugs, and keeping them secure.

Post-Release Fixes

Since this release shipped, we’ve pushed a few additional hotfixes to address issues found during rollout:

  • Fixed recurring events where they displayed on the wrong date when they landed in a shorter month following a 31-day month in the calendar month view.
  • Fixed reusable blocks (like Grand Hero) where adding them to a page from the Block Library could fail to save with false “required field” errors, even when all fields were already filled in.
  • Fixed multi-day events where the spacing between their start and end dates was missing in view blocks (condensed view, event list, and event card grid).
