YaleSites v2.2 is now available. This release introduces a new navigation option for Content Collections, an enhanced theme picker with visual color swatches, content management improvements, and bug fixes. 

Developed in collaboration with Institution for Social and Policy Studies and their vendor partner, Square360. 

Content Collection Navigation Display

Content Collections now support two navigation display options:

In Content Section (default) - Collection navigation appears beneath your site’s main navigation, allowing visitors to move easily between your collection and the rest of your site.

In Site Header (new) - Collection navigation replaces your site navigation, creating a focused, site-within-a-site experience. Best for research centers, programs, or initiatives that could use a distinct identity.

Theme Preview Enhancement

Color selection for blocks has been updated from “1-5” labels to a visual swatch picker. You now can see color previews and theme names when selecting block colors.

Content Management Updates

  • Relabeled “Archive” to “Unpublish” - action name matches behavior
  • Updated View Block “no results found” message to “Nothing to share right now. Please check back soon or explore our site.”
  • Added the ability to delete Resource Category Taxonomy terms
  • Events marked as “All Day” now show an “All Day” label in views and on the Event page

Content Creation Enhancements

  • Added support for additional Microsoft Forms embed URL formats 
  • Site alert banners now disabled on new starter kits (does not affect existing sites)
  • Added an optional Heading field to Link Grid Block

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed cloned page errors caused by book module conflict
  • Fixed contrast accessibility issue in Add or Select Media
  • Fixed view block alignment when teaser images are turned off
  • Fixed extra padding between Headers and Profile Meta block
  • Fixed profiles with missing display names showing unreadable text to visitors 
  • Fixed Calendar Block: include/exclude logic and filter logic now working properly
  • Fixed admin warnings related to View block
  • Fixed an issue where you couldn’t make a new draft with pages in a content collection
